YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (YLC)

The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) is a youth-focused space where young people from across Louisiana can come together to become stronger leaders. Through their unique lenses, YLC members discuss the issues they face so that they can continue to grow from them and understand themselves and their experiences within the context of the broader community and society in which they exist, thus helping them become advocates for mental, physical, and sexual health.

Do you have questions about sexual, reproductive and/or emotional health? Ask us below! An IWES health educator or one of our partners will answer your questions, and we'll share the response in videos on our Catapult social media channels (see below). All questions are kept confidential and you can submit them anonymously if you'd like, but if you include your social media handle we can let you know when we post it. Remember, no question is too weird, so feel free to ask us what's on your mind.

To get a sense of some of the projects our YLC has been involved with in the past, check out our This Meeting is A Protest video series created from a virtual roundtable YLC students hosted in December 2020. What Youth Need From Adults is shared below, and you can find the rest of the videos on our IWES YouTube channel.
