The HIV Testing and Prevention (HTP) program reduces HIV stigma and encourages African American and Latinx people ages 13-60 in the New Orleans area to access HIV testing services and care. HTP is a high impact prevention program with five key components: Targeted HIV Testing, Anti-Retroviral Treatment and Access to Services (ARTAS), Community PROMISE, the PAUSE social marketing campaign, and condom distribution. ARTAS provides linkage to care for newly diagnosed people living with HIV or people previously diagnosed). Community PROMISE is a community-level intervention that uses peer advocates and role model stories to influence changes in behavior to reduce the risk of getting HIV. HTP is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
